OUR

STORY

Rooted in Purpose. Built on Service. Designed to Empower.

Miss Volunteer America is a national scholarship organization founded by Allison DeMarcus, a passionate advocate for service and leadership. The program was created to empower young women through education, responsibility, volunteerism, and personal growth—all while embracing style and confidence. At the heart of the system are five guiding principles:

Scholarship. Education. Responsibility. Volunteerism. Empowerment.

Since its founding, Miss Volunteer America has become a beacon for young women who are ready to lead with purpose and give back to their communities.

In 2021, longtime pageant leader Miss Ann Harmon brought the Miss Volunteer movement to Louisiana, establishing a state-level pageant grounded in the same values of service, sisterhood, and scholarship. Her vision created a platform where Louisiana’s young women could thrive, lead, and launch their futures with confidence.

Today, Miss Louisiana Volunteer continues that legacy—offering a modern, first-class experience that empowers every contestant, honors our founding values, and celebrates the heart of Louisiana.
